| Oahu’s North Shore is the epicenter of big wave surfing and the home of North Shore Surf Girls. Anciently, the Hawaiians were the first people to adventure into the realm of big wave surfing (o'io,) big wave surfing fitness (lua,) big wave surfing body boarding and boogie boarding (pa'ipo.) Contemporary, big wave surfing was pioneered on Oahu’s North Shore in the 50's and 60's and the area has remained the proving grounds for all big wave chargers worldwide. Duke Kahanamoku the Hawaiian ambassador of early surfing traveled the globe sharing the gift of surf. Later, Eddie Aikau a Hawaiian big wave surfer would set the standard for paddling into the giant surf of the North Shore's Waimea Bay. Today, Eddie is remembered by all men, women, boys, and girls of Hawaii's big wave surf crews as through the legendary local saying: “Eddie Would Go.” |  |

Through our surfing lessons at North Shore, Oahu, and Waikiki, we at NSSG can put you up close and personal with the huge waves this area has to offer through adventure tours and we also have the staff to get you training at that next level in the giant swells.
